I’m pretty sure you are interested but it’s not what you think. Matter of fact, It’s pretty demanding to build influence.
One the other hand, it’s easy because it requires just 3 fundamental skills – Read, Think and Share.
At the foundation of influence are what you feed your mind, how it transforms you and how you can use your knowledge to empower others:
1. Read
You can through your personal reading gather deep and profound thoughts from the best minds across all generation. The wisdom of the ancients are preserved in books. The direction of our times are being documented in books.
We need you to read and that, pretty much. We need that quality of thought that comes through a sharpened intellect and discourse with the greats. As Isaac Newton said, “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.”
Because many will not read or sharpen their minds, can we delegate it to you? So that when you must have tarried in the presence of wisdom, you can like Moses give us direction.
2. Think
Our world cries for depth. We need leaders with a high quality of thought. We know that a well ordered life is a product of a well ordered mind.
Can you fertilize the seeds you have planted through good reading? Can you incubate those wonderful ideas until they are matured enough to cause your own personal transformation.
Will you lend your mind to the creator that he might think through it? That he might unravel as delicate silk, profound mysteries that are beyond the reach of the casual and indolent.
Your thoughts matter. For the sake of many that are in darkness, guard the light of knowledge within your soul. Fan the flames of desire until you achieve the impossible.
We are coming to light our candles by your light. We are coming to seek warmth in the glowing embers of your thoughts. Thoughts are things. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Travel within.
3. Share
You can be a custodian of the wisdom of the ages, a sherperd of the direction of the present moment. Please do that by sharing your wisdom with us. The world is dark and many need the light of truth.
When you share your knowledge, you will be dispelling the darkness in people’s lives. Perhaps you have been gifted for such a time as this.
Do not take it for granted that the creator has blessed you with quick understanding, that kings find you ten times better in all matters of learning and wisdom.
All that you have you have received. So share. You are a steward. You are accountable. You are responsible to make your generation a better place, a finer and more empowered world to live in.
I can’t agree more with Woodrow Wilson, “You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.”
